Senior Buyer

Job Description

A Senior Buyer is sought for this large food manufacturing operation which produces a wide array of chilled food products. The aim of the role is to manage purchasing resources so that the business' costs and exposure are minimised whilst supplier performance is maximised. The successful candidate will provide purchasing expertise to the business and support the relevant purchasing strategies. You will be accountable for cost and supplier management and be expected to work within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure all launches, re-launches and de-lists are timely, trouble free and cost effective. You will manage a team of junior buyers and stock controllers. You will provide functional expertise to the business and colleagues and keep site development abreast of existing and preferred suppliers. You must have excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills and be competent in assessing financial options and in analysing cost benefit and supply improvements. Experience of the food industry is essential.
