Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team of talented and influential Category Buyers across this large Food Business. This role also works closely with site based purchasing professionals across the manufacturing sites. The role requires a highly skilled Purchaser with the strength of character and determination to develop their category as well as themselves. As Category Purchasing Manager for a large food manufacturing business, you will be setting and delivering purchasing strategies to optimise business expenditure and achieve competitive advantage across a range of manufacturing sites. Reporting to a Group Manager, you will be responsible for a substantial budget of c. £50m, so will need to demonstrate a track record in developing effective purchasing strategies. This will enable you to quickly embrace an in-depth knowledge of your specified category of ingredients, becoming something of a specialist externally and internally, influencing managers across the Group. You will be expected to undertake project management, sourcing and supplier selection, whilst driving cost reduction activities. The client is looking for a progressive candidate that can demonstrate they are able to take on the responsibilities and also move forward further with their career.
