QA Technician

Job Description

Our client is a leading food manufacturing company with an impressive portfolio of products. They are looking to recruit a food focused QA Technician role based in the Cambridgeshire area now with a lot of enthusiasm, self motivation and a good working knowledge of food quality systems and standards.

This food related QA Technician role reports into the Quality Manager, with key responsibilities being the following:

· To ensure the continued guarantee of safe and quality food production, through the management of factory site standards and auditing.
· The implementation and auditing of procedures.
· Regular reviews of schedules and workloads to ensure all policies adhered to.
· HACCP team member - Quality
· Provision of training to factory teams - Induction, HACCP, GMP, and Basic Food Hygiene.
· Liaison with contractor and follow up of pest control visits
· The management and development of the staff within the technical department.
· To provide feedback and data to the senior management team, including KPIs, briefing meetings, management reviews etc.
· The continuous development of factory standards.
· Dealing with customer requests
· Implementation of new products, updated packaging requirements - Production of factory process sheets, expert knowledge of new products.
· Maintenance of raw materials and suppliers - Including certificates with delivery, supplier complaint follow up and packaging control.
· Issue of product conformance paperwork - Product release signoff, certificates, sampling and analysis for required tests e.g. micro, chemical residues, GMO
· Deputise for the Quality Manager as required.
