Job Description

Our client is a well established meat manufacturer based in the South West of England, who are currently seeking the expertise of a highly motivated and enthusiastic Technical or Quality Manager with both experience within the meat manufacturing sector and Health, Safety and Environment management experience. Managing a dedicated team your primary focus will be to drive quality and Health Safety and Environmental standards forward within the site, to ensure the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.

This Technical Manager and HSE role would very much suit either a meat industry experienced Quality Manager or Technical Manager with a highly positive approach to daily activity and life in general. Specific meat industry experience is essential as is the prerequisite 'up beat' outlook to your work activity.

Reporting to the Factory Manager who will provide considerable support your tasks will include the following;

Assessing and delivering both suppliers' and own company's product specifications and customer requirements.
Ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation, including HACCP.
Ensuring tests, procedures and evaluations are properly understood and carried out and that product modifications are investigated as necessary.
Working methodically to improve the Quality Management System and its application.
Ensuring delivery of all site technical objectives and KPIs.
Bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures which can subsequently be owned by the production team
Assessing the complaint analysis and instigating a through investigation process in order to resolve customer concerns
Acting as a key contact with customers' auditors; responsible for ensuring execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers' specifications and Codes of Practice
Team management
Forming and building relationships with the production department and other key teams on site
BRC management and implementation
