Job Description

A Development Chef is required for an established chilled food business based in the North East, developing chilled products for major retailer clients. A chef with previous experience of the manufacturing sector would be ideal but not a pre-requisite. More important is your credibility as a chef who is versatile and skilled in delivering innovative flavour profiles and interesting dishes; whether it be in your translation of traditional and classic dishes or taking risks with flavours and trends, identifying new and emerging product opportunities, and gaps in the market that will keep your client on the pulse. You will need to demonstrate sustained periods of employment, the ability to significantly contribute to a business driving it forward, able to work within GP parameters. An effective team player who is intuitive to other team members, receptive to their food development needs, open minded to value others opinions, not afraid of criticism or to be challenged. You will work from brief and also blue sky projects working to maximise the site core competencies whilst challenging boundaries to raise the game.
