Job Description

This role is working within a leading chilled food business that supplies leading multiple retailers from a number of manufacturing sites in the UK. It will focus on the technical management of a critical raw material that plays a major part across a large portfolio of products - for example, meat or potato that as an individual ingredient appears in the vast majority of their diverse product ranges - with accountability for developing best practice standards for its use across the catalogue. You will have direct contact with retail customers, NPD, production and purchasing colleagues, and raw material suppliers. In essence, you need to become the font of all knowledge about the product and process; the champion of quality and its improvement. Our client is very open to the background and experience of any candidates, as the specifics of the product area can be learnt. They are more interested in strong project management ability; an understanding of how to assess and measure a process and its success; well developed inter-personal and team working skills; and a passion for doing things right.
