Job Description

What will you do?
You might be:
- organising, planning, commissioning and maintaining production lines
- applying new methods and processes to the way we work
- investigating and sorting out production problems
making the most of resources and planning activities - co-ordinating projects
- running meetings
- spotting ways to reduce costs
- managing budgets
- liaising with R&D
- training and supervising staff
- meeting stringent safety standards.
As we work in flexible teams there'll also be scope to take on different roles that could lead to more commercial (sales/purchasing/marketing) responsibilities, or into general management.
What do we look for?
You'll need at least 280 UCAS points plus a 2:1 Engineering degree
(Mechanical or Electrical) that's accredited and which could lead
to CEng or IEng. You should also be:
- highly analytical
- keen to solve scientific and technical problems
- able to put your points across clearly both face-to-face and in writing
- good at planning, prioritising and managing your time
- ready to challenge the status quo
- good at collaborating with a wide range of people.
What does the training cover?
Everything. After a week-long corporate induction at our Head
Office with all our graduate recruits, you can look forward to:
- a thorough induction into your specific workplace
- your own Mentor from the senior management team
- a personal development plan
- at least two different roles with clearly defined responsibilities
- off-the-job training to boost your leadership skills and business knowledge
- absorbing projects that will take you outside your function and comfort zone
- on-the-job coaching from leaders
- regular performance reviews linked to stretching objectives.
How long does it last?
Two years, starting September 2010.
Where will you be based?
At Kitt Green near Wigan, Greater Manchester.
What are the rewards like?
Very competitive. As well as a £25,000 starting salary expect
