Job Description

Our client is a well-known household branded FTSE 100 Company looking for a Category Manager / Controller to be based in the Cambridgeshire area. The role is working within FMCG branded food category across all Major Retailers. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the company's Category Management Strategy.

As Category Manager / Controller your remit will be to gain competitive advantage for the business by providing in depth and actionable category insight to retailers. To ensure that the business is seen as best in class at range reviews, promotion strategy and NPD activation.

You will interpret data into insight, then transfer that insight into actions, and then deliver those actions to the customer. You will influence retailer category strategies by formulating, sharing and presenting data on purchase decisions, shopper behaviour, range architecture, NPD performance and promotion effectiveness.

You will have expert knowledge of EPOS and Neilsen data recovery, data manipulation and reporting and knowledge of range analysis techniques. You will be experienced in evaluating pricing and promotional effectiveness and in dealing with merchandising and scheduling personnel at key customers.

You will have a successful background in Category Management within a FMCG branded environment. You will be competent when presenting to buyers from Major Multiples and have a good understanding of retailer ranging and marketing strategies.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, able to quickly draw conclusions from complex data, highly numerate and commercially minded, able to evaluate market and financial data with minimal supervision.
