Packaging Manager

Job Description

A large blue chip client has identified a need for a broadly experienced Packaging Manager. This person will be seen as an expert within the business and will hold a senior position, influencing key decision makers and ultimately identifying significant cost savings. This is a highly strategic role focusing on areas that will create a competitive advantage for the business.

Therefore, we require an individual who has a wide and varied background in food packaging and who is used to working with retailers and can react to varying and adjustable deadlines. Experience of the following packaging materials will be beneficial: cardboard, film, foil, plastic (PET, PPE, Thermoform) which are used in cartons, pots.

Duties include:

Manage trials and launches of new packaging.
Liaise with packaging companies and internal teams in order to identify rationalisation of materials and other cost saving solutions for packaging.
Introduce and manage a Packaging Focus Team that can support the Packaging Management.
Ensure that the packaging we use supports current European legislation and customer's own policies.
Explore and research new and forthcoming packaging trends which could be utilised by the business.
