Development Chef required. No more restaurant split shifts! If you still love cooking and developing recipe ideas but are hacked off with the rigours of a conventional kitchen environment, then Food Product Development could be the ideal career step. We are seeking a chef with City & Guilds / NVQ Food qualifications coupled with relevant kitchen experience to make a step change from Restaurant Kitchen to Food Product Development in a top flight manufacturing environment. Our client is well respected in the wider food industry and will offer training and support to a Chef who will work with passion and pride - someone able to transfer their culinary talents to a new environment, someone who is receptive and open minded, and willing to learn all aspects of food innovation within a factory environment working on initial new product concepts through to launch.

Working alongside a Senior Product Development Chef, you will develop traditional pastry based products for leading retail clients, carefully exploring new markets yet able to 'stick with tradition'; sensitively improving and evolving products without alienating loyal repeat purchase customers. You will need to be able to work in an organised and methodical manner, prioritising workloads delivering to set time plans, accurately recording information on IT systems, and learn how to present new products to retail customers.

Key Accountabilities:

o Develop products that deliver innovation and meet the brief set by the customer
o Complete regular reviews to ensure up to date knowledge of competitors and current food tends
o Learn how to cost products and work within set commercial parameters
o Produce product samples for customer presentations considering factory capabilities
o Share food knowledge with colleagues and customers and have a passion for exploring new
product opportunities
o A willingness to learn and a determination to succeed
