Engineering Shift Technician

Job Description

The key aim of this role is to optimise top quality production by the Shift Team through the safe, efficient and effective maintenance and repair of packaging machinery, and by assisting and training the shift team. We are therefore seeking highly a motivated Engineering Shift Technician with a mechanical bias. Able to diagnose faults, repair breakdowns and carry out planned maintenance on a variety of high speed PLC controlled automated packaging lines they will be using their skills, within the team, to keep the plant running and enable us to meet our demanding production targets.

Educated to BTEC or equivalent in engineering, they will also ideally have some mechanical and electrical engineering training and experience. Familiar with high speed packaging equipment, motor/conveyor mechanical processes and relevant quality and safety procedures, technical skills should be backed by a high level of problem solving ability and excellent communication skills. A flexible attitude and the ability to work within a team are also important.

We are looking for team spirit, the flexibility for working a 3 shift pattern that involves working some Saturdays, mechanical bias and FMCG background.
