This senior role has accountability for food innovation in a major chilled food manufacturer supplying all the leading UK retailers.

Job Description

This means product development, consumer insight, trend awareness, quality standards and all long term strategic category growth issues.

In effect a Champion role across a multi-site operation, leading the advancement of new and exciting product initiatives in partnership with the blue chip customer base. There is man management responsibility and at this business they are already a strong and highly effective team, so there is talent in place from day one to work with. As a senior player on the management team, you would also be accountable for top level inter-face with customers and suppliers, and be a key influencer with colleagues on overall business direction and strategy. What is imperative is that you have a truly innovative approach to the development and delivery of new and challenging, yet commercially viable, initiatives to take a mature product sector into new areas of growth. There is a real excitement around this appointment and it really is a great job for the right candidate. So is that you? Do you have experience of similar or complementary experience? A background in chilled food would be useful but is not essential. Our client would also be interested in someone who had worked in both branded and private label sectors, combining market and consumer understanding with pace and speed of delivery. Wherever you come from or whatever your experience, a palpable passion for food business development is absolutely key.
