Technical Compliance Manager

Job Description

Our client is a major manufacturer of chilled foods in the UK. As a result of growth they are looking to recruit a Technical Compliance Manager to take ownership of the technical systems team and for the food due diligence process as a whole.

Reporting to the Technical Director you will work alongside relevant functions including quality, production, commercial and purchasing ensuring food safety is up to date, legislative and compliant with UK standards.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

* Conduct supplier approval assessments through relevant auditing processes.
* Verify that own brand artwork meets the requirements of current food labelling legislation
* Manage supplier audit programmes covering aspects such as hygiene, safety and quality
* Support the technical function with customer visits
* Manage the generation of the technical specifications and relevant documentation.
* Implement an accredited technical standard.
* Maintain & develop the company HACCP programme

The ideal candidate will have a strong experience of factory auditing with the lead auditor qualification a distinct advantage. You will have worked within technical services, quality systems or a technical compliance environment and will have a good understanding of retailer web based technical systems such as Tesco Technical Library, Sainsbury Inspire and Asda Aspect. You will be a strong leader with an attention to detail.
