Production Shift Manager - Food Manufacturing

Job Description

This is a key position within the management team and our client is looking for a Production Shift Manager who has excellent food related production management exposure within a CI / lean manufacturing culture. You will need to manage the day to day operations and be able to provide input into the strategic business plan. Operating within a unionised environment you will need to demonstrate you have had good exposure within this area in terms of developing strong working relationships. You will ensure that all employee activity complies with best practice standards and safety guidelines, manufacturing product to customer specification and agreed timelines, as well as delivering operations budget and KPI targets.

This role will encompass:

- Leadership of the operational function to achieve the overall site objectives.
- Ensuring that personnel within the operations department meet the required standard of
performance and targets in Health & Safety, order fill, budgeted operational costs, product quality
& working capital / stock management.
- Effective and appropriate people performance, development, behaviours and relationships.
- Reviewing performance trends and implementing improvement plans, through a CI approach to
meet the business & site needs.
- Building key relationships with support functions including HR, Technical, Engineering & despatch to
ensure that the operational team are fully equipment and supported to deliver to the agreed
targets.
- Driving and delivering GMP and food safety standards within operations according to customer
guidelines.
- Ownership and delivery of the operations budget for Raw Material, Waste, Labour and Absence.
- Budget responsibility
