Engineering Shift Manager - Food Manufacturing

Job Description

Our multi-site client has a blue chip reputation within the fast paced food manufacturing sector. It is actively seeking an Engineering Shift Manager, permanent Night Shift, who has worked within an FMCG environment, such as food manufacturing or packaging. Reporting to the Operations Manager you will work as the engineer on shift and be expected to carry out proactive and reactive maintenance on production lines during your shift. The chosen candidate will play a key role within the Operations team - leading and working alongside a small team of Production Operatives to ensure production targets are met in line with company safety, quality and hygiene standards and Corporate Values.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading, developing and motivating the shift team
Ensuring KPIs are met/exceeded
Driving Continuous Improvement through team involvement to ensure performance targets are met/exceeded
Promoting a positive, safe culture where all team members contribute
Required to operate a fork lift truck (training provided)

The successful candidate will ideally have a multi-skilled engineering background (preferably within a food manufacturing environment) with City & Guilds or BTEC Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification (or similar), experience of managing people and a positive - can do - attitude along with good communication skills.
