Job Description

My client is a leading supplier of own label food products to the UK retailers. As a result of new product development activity (NPD) and recent successes with their client base, they are now looking to strengthen their purchasing department by recruiting an experienced dairy buyer.

Reporting to the Purchasing Director, you will manage and develop the supply of the right materials on time, in full, at competitive total costs. This will involve managing the current portfolio of suppliers, ensuring the best product availability and purchase cost alongside identifying and vetting new suppliers ensuring the business optimise their processes as materials come on the market.

You will have a proven track record of purchasing dairy or dairy associated products within a fast paced manufacturer. Your ability to negotiate at a senior level and influence a supply base will set an example to the purchasing team and drive continuous change internally.
