Job Description

This six-month contract is an ideal opportunity for a commercial individual who is keen to gain some corporate experience. You will utilise your commercial skills in a professional, dynamic environment and build on your existing expertise.

Having worked in a commercial capacity previously you will need to make an immediate impact. Previous working with the major multiples, proven skills in analysing data and presenting the to the retailer on store visits are all important. You will need to demonstrate your skills in collating data from multiple sources, know your category and support the Account Manager in driving the account forward, man to man marking with the key contacts in the retailer and supporting the Account Manager in all account management issues. In essence, you will be the key link to ensuring the smooth running of the relationship between the manufacturer and retailer.

Internal relationships are clearly important and being a good communicator who can build strong relationships with the NPD and other members of the commercial function is essential.

Ideally you would have worked in the food industry already, and an understanding of the chilled food category would be advantageous but is not essential. Exposure to Tesco, Asda or Sainsbury's is necessary to understand the dynamics of retailer/own branded food manufacturing relationships.

This is an exciting chance to work with a high profile, major food producer and further establish your skills as a commercial professional. Whilst this is a contract role it clearly puts you in a strong position to apply for permanent roles internally and will definitely be seen as a positive step in your development
