Pastry Development Chef

Job Description

To fulfil this role you will need to be a Pastry Chef with a significant number of years experience having worked at the sharp end of the hotel and restaurant industry in four and five star establishments; AA rosette and/or Michelin rated. Pastry and Bakery will need to be your forte and passion. Your craft skills will need to be finely tuned and up to date, with a sound pastry technical understanding so that you can work easily with others on an individual basis or with those in larger scale food production. You will need to be a natural communicator who will be able to deliver regular demonstrations showcasing product potential in practical applications - using the right product for the job. You will need to be able to anticipate and understand customer needs, educate them and deliver solutions that fit their business needs. You will need to be able to adapt your style to ensure the companies own Sales Team and customers a like benefit from your expertise. Travel will play an important part of this role with extensive travel to Europe and sometimes further a field. You will also be invited to work with the Company's Research and Development team, expected to contribute significantly and keep the business aware of similar products new to the market. Working together collaboratively to develop and produce new products that will keep the Company at the forefront of innovation; well ahead of competitors. You must not be afraid to take the lead, without being bullish, always remain respectful other ideas and contribution. A big advantage would be if you have worked in large scale food manufacturing with a proven track record of building trusted customer relations through product delivery.
