Development Chef/Manager

Job Description

This is a superb opportunity for a Development Chef who is ready to take on more responsibility; project-managing briefs from concept stage through customer presentations and liaison with process and technical teams ensuring smooth transfer to the factory. As the Development Chef/Manager you will need to be experienced in developing recipes within a large scale food manufacturing environment, ideally with direct major retail interface. This business is mainly retailer own label led with a small amount of branded work, all frozen products. You will need to accountable for product innovation, driving new ideas, keeping up with food trends presenting them internally and directly to the customer. You will need to be a passionate food enthusiast with strong food values and diverse culinary skills with a proven Chef background. This is a frontline customer facing role therefore similar previous experience would be a distinct advantage. You must be aware and have knowledge of relevant competitor markets and the wider food arena coupled a good sense of commercial viability. It is important that you are organised, focused, a self-starter who can work well with others not only in the NPD Team but interact effectively in the wider team supporting and interacting able to work under pressure to hit deadlines. This is a growing business with capacity to fill and lots of opportunity. Previous experience in a frozen or chilled environment is essential.
