Job Description

This Quality Improvement Manager role is working for a fast moving chilled food manufacturer supplying major retailers. This role will manage the quality team. The purpose of the role is: To manage and control all areas relative to the technical aspects of product safety and quality in compliance with customer and legal requirements within the constraints of an agreed budget. Building customer confidence in the quality standards and processes that apply within the business. To work with all other senior mangers within the business in raising awareness, training and increasing line ownership of quality issues to ensure that finished products conform to all aspects of safety, quality and legality as defined by customer specifications, technical and legal requirements. To deputise for the technical controller in their absence. Key responsibilities include: · The management of the QA Compliance and Factory QA Teams. · Food Safety - ensure analytical and microbiological standards are met in accordance with customer requirements. · Ensure that necessary allergen controls are in place in the factory. · Ensure that the HACCP plan is up-to-date and fully implemented. · Attend customer consistency panels as required, including cover for Customer Quality Manager. · Manage technical audits by third parties and assist in customer visits and enquiries. · Ensure regular GMP audits are conducted. The ideal candidate will be a Graduate in Food Science with experience in a similar technical role in the food industry, preferably working with major multiples. Ref MDW7782
