Ingredients Buyer - Food Manufacturing

Summary

This leading food manufacturer is looking to appoint a buyer to support the purchasing of all ingredients related to new product development (NPD) activity.

As an own label food producer supplying a major retailer customer base, the business works at real pace and is renowned for delivering new and innovative products to the market place on a frequent basis.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

· Support the innovation department to ensure NPD product launches are delivered on time and in budget.

· Identify cost saving initiatives and opportunities within the development process.

· Negotiate cost for all new ingredients delivering strong product margins.

· Liase and work closely with all relevant internal stakeholders including NPD, Category Buyers, Technical and Commercial teams.

· Approve all costs related to recipe trials and supplier samples.

· Ensure a robost system is in place for all new and existing suppliers including documented feedback and justified decision-making processes.

To be successful you will need to be an experienced purchasing individual from within the food and drink industry. You will be a strong negotiator and influencer with the ability to identify new opportunities for the business.

Creative thinking and strong communication skills will also be important as the purchasing team is one which works in unity and shares best practice at all times.
