Product Development Technician

Job Description

My client, a well-known manufacturer of frozen and chilled food products, is looking for a Development Technician to join an ever-growing NPD department. Working within this innovative department, your role will be to assist in the development of new products from concept through to product launch.

Key Responsibilities:

Collate and prepare product samples for customer appraisal
Assist with new product factory trials in association with Production, Buying, Engineering and Technical Services Departments.
Carry out kitchen assessments
Take ownership for shelf life procedure and identify process improvements
Monitor and review competitor products and provide analysis
Contribute to the maintenance of safety, legality and quality aspects of the products.
Prepare relevant paperwork associated with the launch of new products and the updating of this in an accurate and timely manner

Ideally, but not essential, you will be degree educated within a food related subject and you will have experience of working within a development or process based role for a food producer. A frozen or chilled based food background would be advantageous.
