Job Description

NPD Chef required for a 3-6 month contract - London based.

My client is a well known high street retailer offering quality food and refreshments in their large in store coffee shops and restaurants. Strategically they have decided to change the product offering by delivering a whole new eating experience to be more Gastro focused. This will be rolled out firstly from its flagship store to be opened in the city of London and then out to their other branches. To ensure the delivery of this, there is an Interim contract for 3-6 months for a Development Chef to product test, check cooking times and work through recipe dishes to the chosen brief.

The ideal candidate will have experience gained within a consumer focused Food Service position or from busy Gastro style outlets producing good quality food with robust flavours in high numbers.

The role will be an integral role within the Food development department working closely with the NPD Food Development Manager. You will be involved in the process of developing the recipes, product testing and bench marking through to the product launch including the style of crockery to showcase the menu dishes to their best appeal. You will also be challenged with the task of arranging samples for photography and presentation shoots and ensuring consistency and quality through out.

Excellent communication skills are a must, as you will present your ideas internally up to board room level. The role will also require you to forge good relationships with suppliers ensuring provenance and quality of raw material and finished products.
