Job Description

This client is a sector leading and growth focused food manufacturing business supplying two of the leading major UK retailers, best known for their product quality and innovation. As part of the truly challenging growth agenda they are looking to recruit an experienced purchasing professional to develop and implement a complete new approach to Purchasing Management. This will include developing new systems including supply base selection and management, contract negotiation, order expedition, supplier service level agreement assessment, and the leading of a small Purchasing team who are in need of skills development and motivation. The role will be accountable for the sourcing and procurement of a range of food raw material products, packaging items and in direct purchases, such as utilities etc. You will focus on the development and implementation of a new purchasing strategy with robust KPIs to ensure delivery of targets to increase bottom line performance and day to day operational efficiency through better materials management. It is also critical that you have strong skills in cross-functional working within the business team as this new senior role needs to be influential at senior management level. CIPS qualification would be desirable rather than necessary.
