Packaging Buyer

Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to join the purchasing department of a dynamic and ambitious food manufacturer as their Packaging Buyer. The business, a major provider of chilled foods to the UK retail market is passionate about both how the product tastes but also how it looks and in this role you will have a huge contribution to the end product and how consumers perceive it!

Sourcing new materials, implementing SLA's and negotiating with suppliers will be regular tasks and you will have the autonomy to select appropriate suppliers, brief them on future new products (NPD) and manage the purchasing process through to finish. Internal relationships with the ingredients buyer, artwork coordinators and the purchasing manager will be critical to delivering on set project objectives.

Ideally you will have experience of purchasing/procurement/buying from with the food manufacturing industry with packaging experience a distinct advantage. You will be a strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills and you'll have an ability to manage multiple projects at any one time.
