Senior Production Manager/ Project Manager (Lean)

Summary

This role will identify and handle current improvements within production and technology development (including lean) and manage the operational processes and projects.

The role is within a large successful branded and own label Food Manufacturer.

Job Description

Ideally the candidate will have experience in both production management and project management roles.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect input from across all functions at the site and identify improvement initiatives
• Project resource to the site Manager
• Drive process optimization, incl. technological processes
• Examine operational problems and identify main causes
• Lead local improvement projects
• Identify investment needs
• Develop CAPEX budget proposals in cooperation with the Site Manager
• Support implementation of new process equipment
• Report on status on implemented projects to Site management, Supply Chain Development and Production Directors
• Support the running-in of new equipment and processes
• Deliver technical input to product enquiries, NPD
• Ensure handing over of new products from Innovation to the Site
• Undertake ongoing adjustments of process and equipment following process indicators and product quality.

Requirements for the role:

• Experience of working in a project/innovation related role in a managerial/consultant capacity
• Demonstrable operational background in a technological/production role (preferably experience of both)
• Qualified to A Level standard (or equivalent)

Your background would be in an manufacturing environment and whilst this role is in the Food Industry and stated earlier in the advert the right individual could come from other manufacturing environments such as Automotive or Pharmaceutical.
