Development Chef

Job Description

A NPD Chef is required to develop chilled prepared ready meals and snacks with global flavour profiles for major retail clients. This role will require a Chef who has experience of foods from a selection of Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka and China. Working as part of the NPD Team you will be developing recipes that will excite retail buyers and in turn keep our client at the forefront of recipe innovation through product creativity and authenticity.

Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment will be a definite advantage but is not a pre-requisite as you will also be tasked to match products and work with the factory to problem solve ensuring that the approved kitchen product transfers to large scale production retaining product integrity. You will interface with retail clients directly yourself, educating and inspiring through your product presentations.

Research will play an important part whether through Internet and wider media search, restaurant visits and travel.

You will need to be an organised individual who can manage multiple projects, working from brief through to launch, producing recipes and costings. It will be the Development Chef's role to keep the business up to date with latest and food trends and potential product opportunities building strong relations with retail clients.
