Meat Technical Manager

Our client is one of the leading businesses in the South African meat industry and supplies the premium High Street retailer with a broad range of primary and added value product.

Job Description

You will play a lead role on the senior team of the business, contributing cross-functionally to the overall agenda.  The client is looking for exceptional experience in leading and developing the Technical team, raising both the technical and management skills base.

You will need to have demonstrable high level experience in working with the major UK multiples as it is to these standards that they operate.  This is a role that encompasses extensive front line contact with the retail customer at senior levels, so we are looking for someone who has well developed business relationship skills.

You will be accountable for both the strategic and operational technical success of the business, including all aspects of food safety, quality management on site and with raw material suppliers, technical innovation, hygiene and laboratory teams, and all food legality issues.

As can be seen, this is a senior position.  It is a business unit that is part of a large European owned food group.  Initial interviews will take place place in the UK.
