Development Technologist

Job Description

My client is a leading manufacturer of food products and as a result of growth they are now looking to appoint a Development Technologist to support all NPD activity within a small development team.

You will work closely with customers taking a lead role in new development projects focussing on creating and developing innovative product ideas, and project managing new products from initial concept to launch.

Key Responsibilities:

· To contribute ideas towards the innovation of new products
· To manage assigned development projects from concept to delivery
· To communicate effectively with internal departments including manufacturing, sales,
marketing and technical
· To ensure shelf life tests are undertaken
· To be responsible for developing concepts, and taking new products from the kitchen into
the factory
· To ensure production and technical teams have all the relevant information for product
launches and to provide support throughout the launch.

The successful candidate will have a relevant food degree such as Food Technology or Food Science and will have experience of working in a product development or product innovation role. Anybody living in the Blackburn, Bolton, Wigan, Preston, Greater Manchester or Burnley area would be commutable in distance to the role.
