Job Description

Our client is a major multi-site manufacturer of premium ambient and chilled products supplying the retail sector with own brand products. With significant recent capital investment, a business that is growing year on year and an award winning product portfolio, our client is now looking to further strengthen the senior management team with the appointment of a Technical Director.

Reporting to the Managing Director and operating alongside the wider executive team, you will have full responsibility for the business Technical function coordinating daily activity, managing technical issues, liaising with all external technical bodies and driving strategy and continuous improvement across areas under your control. Working in collaboration with the Product Innovation Director and Site Managers you will assist in delivering new products to launch within specified timescales. In this own label business you will have significant involvement with the UK retailers, and a credible track record of achievement is a key criteria for selection. It is essential that you can demonstrate the ability to develop and communicate commercially focussed technical strategies in a pragmatic and common sense approach to the factory based operational teams.

Ideally with a degree in a food related subject, you will have appropriate senior management experience heading up a Technical Department in a fast moving, customer driven environment. You will be a visionary leader, demonstrating a strong relationship history with all major retailers within high-end own-label products. A good communicator and team player you will have excellent organisational skills, strong commercial acumen and a flexible approach to work.
