Chief Engineer

Job Description

Our client is a major multi-site manufacturer of premium products supplying the retail and B-to-B sector with an industry leading portfolio of products. With significant planned capital investment, a business that is growing year on year and a desire to be the best in category, our client is now looking to further strengthen the senior management team with the appointment of a Chief Engineer.

Reporting to the Operations Director and operating alongside the wider senior team, you will have full responsibility for the business Engineering function coordinating daily activity, managing technical issues and driving strategy and continuous improvement across areas under your control. Working in collaboration with the Manufacturing function and through a team of site engineers you will ensure that equipment is maintained to a level that will enable the business to deliver robust operational efficiency targets. A key objective will be to develop and implement a full Preventative Maintenance system, further enhancing operational efficiency.

Ideally with a degree in an engineering related subject, you will have appropriate senior management experience heading up an Engineering department in a fast moving, customer driven environment. You will be a strong, hands-on leader, demonstrating the ability to operate under pressure and lead from the front. You will have excellent organisational skills, strong commercial acumen and a flexible approach to work.
