Commercial Director

Summary

Our client is a major pan-European manufacturer of premium chilled and frozen protein based products supplying both the retail and foodservice sector.

With significant recent capital investment, a business that is growing year on year and an award winning product portfolio, our client is now looking to further strengthen the senior management team with the appointment of a Commercial Director.

Job Description

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director and working alongside the wider senior commercial team you will be responsible for delivering high margin new product volume within the category, overlooking and directing the Sales and Marketing and Innovations teams, making and influencing strategic and tactical decisions and delivering balance to carcase sales in a category that at times relies heavily on commodity trading at low margin.

Key deliverables will include developing and maintaining exceptionally strong customer relationships creating customer intimacy and a customer focused approach, along with creating a close collaboration with the Innovation/NPD teams ensuring a clear understanding of requirements to deliver the end result.

In addition to this the position will carry budgetary responsibility, control of tendering and negotiations and will contribute to the drive to present an innovative approach to our customers.

Ideally with a degree in a food related subject, you will have appropriate senior management experience heading up a commercial function in a fast moving, customer driven environment. You will be a visionary leader, demonstrating a strong relationship history with all major retailers across comparable product categories with an emphasis on value added.

A good communicator and team player you will have excellent organisational skills, strong commercial acumen and a flexible approach to work.
