Interim to Permanent Hygiene Manager

Job Description

To manage, develop and lead the hygiene team to effectively deliver an operationally excellent hygienic factory in line with Health & Safety and overall business requirements. You will be accountable for all hygiene activities across this business unit, embracing pest control, waste management, laundry and washroom functions.  You will have responsibility for managing and for purchasing chemicals, consumables, PPE and equipment and will manage relevant budgets.

By conforming to all H&S procedures and carrying out risk and COSHH assessments, you will provide a safe working environment for all employees.  With production being 24/7, you will be responsible for providing effective hygiene schedules and staff rosters and for actively developing your team through a coaching approach.

You will be accountable for leading and developing continuous improvement activity within the hygiene team and its delivery of quality, value, safety, hygiene, environment and customer service.  Taking responsibility for carrying out hygiene audits across the business unit, your role will also liaise with chemical contractors to ensure that all chemicals and equipment supplied are fit for purpose.  

Experience of working for a Food Manufacturer that supplies Major Retailers is essential.
