Our client is a fast paced chilled food manufacturer supplying Major Retailers with short shelf life food products across UK and Europe.  The business is expanding, and with a new management team in place, is looking for a Development/ NPD Technologist who is wanting to progress their career with a growth product category.

This is an exciting time for an ambitious Development/NPD technologist to join an expanding chilled food manufacturer.

Our client is a fast paced chilled food manufacturer supplying Major Retailers with short shelf life food products across UK and Europe.  The business is expanding, and with a new management team in place, is looking for a Development/ NPD Technologist who is wanting to progress their career with a growth product category.  

As part of the NPD Team, reporting into the NPD Manager, your primary responsibility will the be the safe launch of new chilled food products ensuring the critical path is followed from concept to launch in line with customer expectations. The ideal candidate will be able to:

• Project manage the critical path from concept to launch.
• Adhere to relevant health and food safety legislation and Customer Health policy at all times throughout the development of new products.
• Ensure regular panels and meetings are attended with the customer as required to keep the development programme on track.
• Successfully complete factory trials in order to achieve sign off of factory 'v' kitchen samples with the customer.
• Technically hand over all new development projects to the technical team including allergen  information, nutritional and recipe information.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Food Degree or equivalent qualification within a food discipline.
• Experience in technical/development role would be preferable.
• Good influencing skills liaison with production/planning and ability to communicate at all levels.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Complex Chilled prepared food experience highly desirable.
• Experience of dealing with top 5 major multiples at a variety of levels.
• Experience of working with a robust NPD Process.
