This business sources product on an international basis and supplies all the leading retailers through its own brand and private label.  It has also recently invested in a new technology platform that gives it real competitive edge in the market, and the consequent opportunity for growth is immense.  This is an environment where people selection criteria are demanding so they are looking for outstanding candidates who can add value across a cross-functional platform.

This Operational role has a broadly based accountability – production, technical, logistics, technical etc.  The remit is therefore much more than purely factory management.  There are imminent plans to double the production capability so experience in capex projects would be useful.

You must have a cross-functional skills mix that is more than pure production management.  This is an environment where everyone is passionate about and involved in achieving business goals, so you need to exhibit a real commitment to delivering results in a positive and team focused manner.  Team leading and developing is a key criterion as the growth plans of this business will require an uplift in skills generally.
