Job Description
In many ways this is an excellent opening to develop your career
further with an ambitious and fast expanding chilled foods multi manufacturer.
With the purchasing team currently expanding securing one of a few
pivotal purchasing roles within this group will undoubtedly assist
in potentially being in pole position for advancement with the next
phase of expansion. With a turnover in excess of £100m and a range
of high quality products sold to the major retail chains, this is
high profile position with considerable visibility within the
group.
This Purchasing/Category Manager role will have an emphasis on
both direct material ingredients and packaging, ensuring all site
purchasing opportunities are exploited and taking lead category
responsibility for a number of major group spend areas. Your
primary responsibilities for this challenge will entail devising
category strategies/ source plans and delivering identified targets
alongside the commercial responsibility for site procurement. An
essential part of the function will also be the development of
internal relationships and the 'marketing' the purchasing function
and its performance. Your project management skills will be fully
utilised leading cross-functional teams to maximise the supply base
contribution to their corporate goals. Perhaps most importantly you
will be seen as the key exponent of championing purchasing and best
practice across the business.
Essentially you will be a high calibre, positively focused
purchasing/business professional, who can contribute immediately to
the business who has evidence of adding value via new ideas and
concepts. Ideally you will be degree/HND qualified with a minimum
of 3 years purchasing experience within the food sector that has
encompassed practical experience of category management and
purchasing change strategies. Results driven, with a 'can do'
attitude your relationship building skills and ability to influence
will facilitate the delivery of both business objectives and a
strong team ethic.
With a considerable investment programme in place this is an
