Job Description

Our client is a major pan-European manufacturer of premium chilled and frozen protein based products supplying both the retail and foodservice sectors. With significant recent capital investment, a business that is growing year on year and an award winning product portfolio, our client is now looking to further strengthen the team with the appointment of a QA Manager.

Reporting to the Technical Manager based at a sister site, and operating alongside the wider management team, you will initially participate in establishing Quality systems for this newly acquired business. Beyond this you will have responsibility for the site QA function coordinating daily activity, managing technical issues, liaising with all external technical bodies and driving strategy and Continuous Improvement across areas under your control. Working in close collaboration with the Product Development and Manufacturing teams you will assist in delivering new products to launch within specified timescales. In this own label business you will have significant involvement with the UK retailers, and a credible track record of achievement is a key criterion for selection. It is essential that you can demonstrate the ability to develop and communicate commercially focussed technical strategies in a pragmatic and common sense approach to the factory based operational teams..

Ideally with a degree in a food related subject, you will have appropriate experience in a similar function in a fast moving, customer driven environment or you will be a factory based quality management expert. You will be a strong leader, demonstrating a relationship history with all major retailers across comparable product categories with an emphasis on value added lines. A good communicator and team player, you will have excellent organisational skills, strong commercial acumen and a flexible approach to work.
