Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic and highly successful manufacturer of fast moving consumer goods.  This business is part of a leading international food group that is recognised as an influential player in the UK food fmcg market.  It has a strong reputation for true HR business partnership and sees the function as being highly influential in order to achieve its turnover and profit objectives.

Our client is looking for a strong HR generalist with experience of a manufacturing environment to join the Senior Management Team of this well established and progressive business unit. With a clear and focussed view of HR, you will play a key role in driving performance by ensuring that HR influences all key business decisions, particularly where change is involved for the company and its people. You will need to be able to demonstrate a track record of enabling the Executive Team to understand and own the people issues within their business. You will know what 'best' looks like in terms of key appointments, and be able to coach and mentor across the Senior Management Team to develop the required quality and calibre of individuals to meet the operational and strategic goals across the five year plan.You will be required to show that you have delivered on previous Business HR Plans - short and long term - that meet both Business Strategy and Group HR Strategy. This includes Organisational Design & Development to reassure the business that it is structured correctly to meet current and future operating objectives. The emphasis is on cost, quality and time - all through polished people management.You will be supported by a team of experienced HR Officers and Administrators whose continued skills development will be high on your agenda too. CIPD qualified with experience of successfully managing an unionised environment are preferred selection criteria.

This role requires an HR professional with passion and energy who loves the challenge of pace and change in a truly progressive and demanding business environment…and who leads from the front.  To be considered you must have worked in a multi-functional manufacturing environment in a senior HR capacity.  You must be able to demonstrate strong influencing skills with peer group colleagues, and well developed team leading ability in further developing your HR people and the function itself.  This is a P&L accountable business unit structure, so commercial awareness is also a pre-requisite.
