Site Accountant - Food manufacturing

Our client is a well-known household branded blue chip company within the FMCG/Food manufacturing sector seeking to enhance its Site Operations Management Team with a professional Site Accountant.

This role is site based and primary responsibility is to ensure the provision of finance and management accounting support for all the site operations.  To ensure finance and legal compliance for the business and the management of the site finance and administrative teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Provision of all financial and management information and support to the site management team, to include; product costing analysis, advice on manpower requirements and plant efficiency.
• Finance lead for on-site projects including capital project appraisal and reporting.·    Finance Period Reporting.
• Facilitation and delivery of accurate and timely forecasts and budgets.
• Ensuring compliance to RPA standards and point of contact for RPA.
• As an integral part of the site management team, to be involved in decisions of any aspect of production, warehousing and administration on site.
• Manage the administration team on site, including coaching and development, performance management and the allocation of duties.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:

• Preferably fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA – with a focus on management accounting) with evidence of relevant post qualification experience, ideally with some team management and food manufacturing experience

OR

Must have relevant experience in a similar role with formal financial training, e.g. AAT.

• Examples of proactively encouraging a safe culture.
• Must be able to operate within the defined boundaries of financial management controls but also use some creativity in the application of information, for example providing tools for management to manipulate data to support effective decision making processes.
• Excellent communication skills to be able to work closely with various individuals based at Site, but also cross-functionally.
• Ability to influence other managers to carry out requirements for financial compliance and to act on advice for operational improvements.
• Line management of staff, overseeing workload, coaching and development.
• High level of discretion required in relation to access to a wide range of sensitive information, ranging from salary information, labour planning, capital investment and overall business decisions.
• Provision of timely and accurate financial information.
• Sounds systems skills and the ability to interpret and manipulate complex data.
• Good level of Microsoft Excel capability.
