Job Description

Part of a major international food group, this business is a leading player in its added value chilled food sector.  It is a company that sets high operational standards, and has a real commitment to product quality and innovation, working as it does with the leading High Street retailers.

Sitting on the Executive Team, this role is accountable for the direction of the operational business, encompassing key areas such as production, engineering, logistics, H&S, planning etc.There are c.800 staff at this business so our client is looking for a strong team leader who sets clear direction and monitors delivery through their direct reports. There is a need for someone who has well developed understanding of modern manufacturing processes and the latest thinking – someone who can coach, mentor and inspire colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have led an operational business unit from the number one position – or have the real and demonstrable potential to do so.  They will have worked within a mix of automation and hand crafted production processes, ideally with a focus on regular new product development initiatives. They will be able to contribute to day to day management issues around the plant, and also be highly impactful on the senior team helping to develop longer term business strategy.
