Job Description

Our client is a large fast paced chilled food manufacturer supplying Major Retailers, Food Service and B2B with short shelf life food products. The business has an exciting product range that match lifestyle foods. The business has recently restructured and is looking for a Shift Team Manager who wants to progress their career with a growth product category. My Client has a successful track record of career progression.

Reporting into the Production Manager, you with have Production responsibility to lead an area or shift manufacturing team. To safely deliver the daily production schedule to the required quality, service, and cost standards.

People - Responsible for ensuring the correct skills and numbers are available to complete the plan.  Identify, develop and coach team members to deliver and exceed performance requirements. Consider succession planning.  Ensure correct procedures are followed for example; hygiene, absence reporting and certification, food safety and general performance requirements.

Machinery - Responsible for the correct usage of all equipment within your designated area including both fixed and portable equipment.  Ensure that equipment is used safely and all defects are promptly reported to engineers.

KPI’s – Achieve agreed KPIs. Products - Responsible for the quality of final product from each line.  Ensure materials comply to standards.  Waste measurement and control in your area.

You must have experience of Production/Operations/Factory Management within a fast paced chilled food-manufacturing environment.  You will have a successful track record of building strong factory teams. A good understanding of Major Retailers, Technical and NPD Processes will be essential. 

Key requirements include:

  • Ability to lead and motivate a large manufacturing team
  • Well developed written and verbal communication skills
  • A comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process, enabling the development of continuous performance improvement plans covering efficiency and quality
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all business levels
  • Good analytical and numerical capability
