Job Description

Our client is a large UK based food manufacturer that has enjoyed significant growth over the last couple of years.  The business supplies the major UK retailers with both branded and own label products and enjoys good relationships with its main customers. 

The main purpose of the Customer Technical Manager role is to support the major retail accounts, delivering to the customers’ expectations on both process and product.  As Customer Technical Manager you will ensure that the business takes a proactive approach in implementing and advising on Technical best practice across both own label and branded product ranges.  A key part of the Customer Technical Manager role is to ensure that all retail customer’s codes of practice and policies are understood by the wider business and to ensure KPIs are in line with customer requirements.  Communication with the wider business and with your specified retail customers is very important in this role and a passion for customer service is key.  As Customer Technical Manager you will have one direct report and will regularly liaise with colleagues in NPD and Technical.

To be considered for this role you will be educated to degree level in food science or a related subject.  You will have a good deal of experience in a technical role within a fast paced food manufacturing business.  Experience of dealing with major food retailers and developing sound business relationships is crucial to this customer-facing role.
