High profile Laboratory Manager role supporting a major marketing leading food manufacturer.

Job Description

Manufacturing both own label and major household brand products, you will be operating within within a fast moving and dynamic environment that will offer an excellent springboard to progress your career. There is a highly enthusiastic team culture and a determination to push boundaries and deliver excellence is very evident within their NPD facility.

Your key objective will be to manage the laboratory team, budget, key supply contracts and interface effectively with the quality team, whilst ensuring  compliance with CLAS & GLP standards. Working very closely with the NPD team you will oversee shelf life trials and ensure that trial recipes are checked and final product examined before release into the business. Other duties will include the raising of all technical department purchase orders for the  site as well as the  sampling, testing, releasing and downgrade of product. The development of your department and team will be a core part of the role  so the writing of  SOP's for laboratory procedures and updating  all staff on current issues will be of paramount importance.

Ideally  you should have  Food Manufacturing laboratory experience worked within a CLAS accredited laboratory environment and have a knowledge of chemical and microbiology analysis. Possessing good leadership skills you should be familiar with managing and developing a team of laboratory personnel as well as adding value to the business via your technical guidance and professional input. There will be considerable exposure to senior management so you will need to have excellent communication skills to present large scale complex details. Very much a team player you should be able to  think 'outside the box', and influence the wider technical and non technical community on site.
