Operation Manager (Shift Based) Food Manufacturing

Job Description

The role reports into the Manufacturing Manager and has responsibility for Operations.   The site manufacturers chilled products for a range of leading Retailers.  The opportunity due to the scale and scope of the operational allows personal development through working with outstanding manufacturing professionals.

The role reports into the Manufacturing Manager and is accountable for the Food Production Operation.  Its focus is to ensure that the Team Managers, Team Leaders and Operatives fully understand the manufacturing strategy and how their accountabilities input into the overall plan.  The role is focused on ensuring the right systems are in place and that the KPI targets are constantly meet and exceeded. 

The role, proactively look at ways to improve the factory operation through continuous improvement and involving the manufacturing teams and different functions to improve business performance.

The role is accountable for Team Development ensuring that there is succession planning within the team from operative, team leader, shift management levels.

The role is focused on ensuring there is excellent communication through visible communication and verbally methods at all levels within the manufacturing environment.

The role is based on a Sun – Thurs or Sat – Thurs a mix of mornings and afternoon shifts

You must have experience of Production/Operations/Factory Management within a fast paced food-manufacturing environment, ideally chilled food.  You will have a successful track record of achievement through improving productivity, continuous improvement and building factory teams.
