An internal promotion has created the opportunity for a highly commercial Raw Materials Technologist to join a global organisation in the South East of England.

Your main accountabilities will be to:

  • Develop new suppliers or materials in line with the Material Quality Management Standards to support the Global Dairy Sourcing Strategy
  • Ensure the supply base is verified compliant through auditing, representing the business in a professional way, to motivate suppliers to Continuously Improve
  • Complete raw material risk assessments to ensure all food safety, quality and legal risks associated with materials, suppliers, their storage and transport are robustly managed
  • Develop technical expertise and product knowledge in order to become the central business contact for new products, processes, new technologies and applications relating to the materials
  • Resolve raw materials related technical issues through trouble-shooting, including co-coordinating corrective and preventive actions with the supplier
  • Increase efficiency and reliability of internal systems (procedures, tools and systems) used for raw material quality management and reporting

The ideal candidate will be technically strong but also have lots of commercial awareness. Strong auditing skills are required but also working with suppliers and encouraging them when appropriate. A Microbiology degree or Food science degree will be required.
