Job Description

This company is a world leader in its sector and has enjoyed unprecedented growth in the last couple of years.   With industrial facilities in Europe, North Africa and the USA, they produce natural ingredients for the flavouring, nutraceutical, food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

They have now created the position of R&D Engineer/Applications Technologist to join their Laboratory dedicated to Colourings formulations and applications.

This position reports to the Colourings R&D Manager, and is globally responsible for developing worldwide specific colourings applications for customers and extending the existing range of products in order to offer the most viable solutions

This will entail taking briefs from the Sales team and working up applications whilst liaising closely with clients on customer visits.  It will include managing projects from design of products to formulation, accurate compilation of technical sheets, and supporting Production colleagues with trials.

A small team of Technologists will require your managerial support in the absence of the R&D Manager – a great opportunity to progressively develop your management potential.

You will need to have at least three years’ experience in R&D applications in the food industry, preferably from food ingredients, colourings or flavourings. You will also need to have good organisational skills and enjoy initiating new opportunities, whether internal or external.
