We have an exciting opportunity for a Category Manager to help drive branded business within the UK’s major retailers.

Job Description

Our client is based in Nottinghamshire and produces a range of branded and own label, ready to eat chilled food products for all of the UK’s major retailers. This company is a market leader when it comes to the chilled branded products it produces.

In this role you will add value by seeking out consumer and shopper insight within the product category. You will work with the Commercial teams to develop and implement robust category plans based on this insight, leading to profitable branded growth for the company. You must use category insights to develop and implement growth strategies, which will result in the company being recognised as category leaders within the market place.

You will also conduct regular market reviews with retailers, to include a review of performance versus growth targets and recommend actions to remedy performance issues or capitalise on growth opportunities.

Externally you will build relationships with retailers through key personnel, including buyers, development teams, marketing and media teams as appropriate.

To apply for this role you must:

• Have Category Management experience.
• Experience in the use of Nielsen, Kantar, IRI or other data warehouses and retailer specific systems.
• Have the ability to build concise, persuasive retailer pitches.
• Previous market research experience.
