Job Description

Our client is the 2nd largest fresh food manufacturer in the UK and is currently experiencing a significant growth phase throughout the business.With many sites throughout the UK and further planned organic and acquisitive growth, our client is now looking to further strengthen the management team by the appointment of a Food Safety Specialist

As a Food Safety Specialist you will provide commercially sensitive, objective and technical expertise to assist and provide guidance to all divisions of the business. Reporting to the Head of Group Food Safety, you will be responsible for establishing and upholding food safety standards, resolving associated issues promptly and efficiently, as well as developing, implementing and monitoring food safety systems and procedures for your area of responsibility. The role will involve liaising with internal and external stakeholders at every level and providing solutions to address different needs according to the Company’s food safety standards.

The successful applicant will hold a degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a closely related discipline and hold a recognised HACCP qualification, preferably at intermediate level. You will need to demonstrate strong experience across a wide product range, including high risk products, which should have been gained in a retail or similar generalised environment,. You will be enthusiastic and flexible with excellent communication, investigative organising skills and a high degree of self motivation.
