Job Description

The UK company of this major global business dominates its market sector with a portfolio of well known and well loved brands available in all the high street supermarkets.  It has a number of manufacturing sites in the UK, and its UK head office facility is based a half hour rail commute from Central London.

The newly created position of HR Director, UK, - based out of the UK HO facility - will take on responsibility for all UK corporate HR responsibilities as well as provide guidance and support to the site HR teams.  Reporting to the UK MD, you will have responsibility for a small HO based HR team with accountability for UK HR & Corporate Governance and ensuring all Policies and Procedures are up to date and implemented across the UK business.  Working in tandem with the global Head Office based in Europe, you will be responsible for optimising Talent Management and Career Development programmes throughout the Group.  Consequently, some previous knowledge of international mobility management would be a plus.

This role would suit somebody who understands the needs of the manufacturing HR environment and can combine it with the strategic thought-leadership required for a Corporate HR role.  You will need to have solid experience of Trade Union management along with a Generalist HR Management profile that can guide the site HR teams in optimising business performance by adding value on factory controls and asset management.   Experience of working in international and cross functional teams would be a big plus.

Culturally aware interpersonal skills are critical for this role as you will need to understand different market dynamics in order to influence upstream effectively.

Willingness to travel both within the UK and Europe is sought.
