Job Description

Our client is a large, major UK retailer based in the South East renowned for its high quality products and enviable company heritage. The business is committed to delivering high quality innovation at good value for its customers.  As such they have a world class buying team that they are looking to strengthen further.

As a food buyer in this leading UK retailer you will be a key member of a large category team, responsible for delivering margin improvements and driving company profitability. You will be accountable for a number of ranges within a specific product category.  As a successful buyer you will build excellent relationships with your supply base, setting and agreeing promotional plans and agreeing product costs for new and existing products.

To be considered for this buying opportunity you will be educated to degree level and have a passion for the food industry. You will have track record of successfully growing product categories along with your NPD colleagues in a previous buying role, driving commercially viable innovations. In terms of product area experience we are open to speaking with candidates from all areas of the food industry including Fresh Foods, Produce, Hospitality and Food Service, Beverages, Frozen Foods and Groceries.
